1. Design:

    Analyze Injury and Non-Injury Traffic Collision Data for one to two months to see if a pattern develops showing the most common location, day of week, cause of collision, and time of day. This will be based on 1999 data from hard copy traffic accident reports for City of Long Beach, placed on a digitized City of Long Beach map.

2. Sources of Information:

    Sources of information will be obtained from the following areas.
    1. Digitized Map for ArcView - City of Long Beach, Technology Services Department, Application Programs Division -
    2. Traffic Volume Reports - City of Long Beach, Public Works, Traffic Engineering Division -
    3. Traffic Accident Reports (1999) - City of Long Beach
    4. Traffic Reporting Criteria - California Police Department,
      Accident Investigations - Sgt Highway Patrol (1998) State Wide
      Integrated Traffic Reporting System (SWITRS)
